This song was written in a rather experimental phase of mine, attempting to focus on dynamics in range and volume.

The phrase "sugar for my tea" is in reference to my experience making tea (average black tea). The flavor doesn't tend to be brought forward until sugar is added. It brings clarity to the drink. So the line in a metaphor for clarity.
